Year 4 2022 - 2023
Welcome to Year 4
Class Teacher: Mrs Lenton
Teaching Assistant: Miss Dunnet
This half term, year four will have an exciting visit to St Luke’s Primary School in Heywood, which is part of our work with the Rochdale Linking Project.
In English, we will be reading an abridged version of Shakespeare’s ‘Julius Caesar’ and writing a newspaper article about his assassination at the Senate house in 44BC! This links with our History topic on the Romans. We will also be reading and learning the poem ‘The Lady Of Shalott’ by Alfred Lord Tennyson. We are also learning Latin, which links to the Romans too.
In Science, we will be looking at how environments change over time and learning to classify animals and plants according to their characteristics and make classification keys. In maths, we will be working extra hard to learn our times tables for the times tables test in June.
In DT, we will be finding out about Roman aqueducts and making a model of one ourselves.
In PE, we will be playing rounders and hopefully, the weather will be nice enough to have our lessons outside.
