Class Teacher: Mrs Iqbal
Teaching Assistants: Mrs Akhter, Mrs Ahmed, Miss Brooks, Mrs Shahid
We welcome our morning children in at 8:30 for the beginning of our session. The children wave goodbye to their parents and carers at the classroom door and hang up their possessions on their pegs independently. The children will have a range of morning tasks available around the classroom to engage in independently. Members of staff are always available at the door to welcome the children in and encourage open communication and information sharing with parents every morning to help support the children throughout the day.
After registration, we share a story and discuss what we have read. We will have a phonics session that focuses on developing children’s listening skills each morning. When we feel a child is ready to start learning some letter sounds, we introduce this learning in small groups.
Children then have access to both indoor and outdoor provision. We encourage independent learning through play; all adults interact with the children to help build language and communication skills and relationships with their peers. Our classroom includes quality resources to help your child engage in meaningful activities.
Children have a healthy snack during both morning and afternoon sessions. During this time, our reading ambassadors and classroom staff share a book with the children to promote good manners and self-care.
Nursery children also take part in short daily adult-led activities. These activities encourage the development of a range of skills, including physical growth, maths, and personal, social, and emotional development. Our activities are planned to meet all the children’s needs and support their learning and development.
We welcome our afternoon children in at 11:45 for the beginning of our session.
